The Printed Word

The new theme for 

The Three Muses Challenge  is.....

'The Printed Word

  I have always loved reading  so this theme has really appealed to me.

While I was making the first page, the  idea for  a second version came to me. Books open doors  for us,  knowledge is so important for everyone.

  I imagined this little one stepping through the page of her book, looking for the answers of the many questions she wanted to ask.

  I used a digital die cut from the computer program I use to cut out the fairy figures from a  book page. So no books were messed up or torn apart to create these pages.

Stillness and peace

This weeks theme over at

Take a word.....is Statue.

I created a calming scene  as we are fast approaching

 what my mother always used to call the 'silly season'.

Where everything seems to be done in a rush, its good to take time out

and maybe dream of  peaceful days.

We love fruit.

is......Fruit and/ or Vegetables.

Let me introduce you to Cherry and Peaches who love to  read.

Mum wants them to be healthy so she gave them a leaflet to read about

 how fresh fruit and vegetables are good for you.

In the UK it is well published that we should eat at least 5 pieces of fruit or vegetables each day.

I hope the girls enjoy the fruit,

 mum bought rather a lot  for them when she went shopping..

I found this quite a challenge for me and a bit outside my comfort zone.

Still, I do believe that trying things is much more satisfying than saying I cannot do that.
